Andrine & DIFR
BigDog Interactive was
commissioned to exhibit three installations at St. George's Hall in
Liverpool during the Liverpool European Capital of Culture opening gala
night gala event. The event showcased artists' work from around NW
England. The event organizers and directors were looking for ways of
getting their audience to interact with their environment and each
other. We created two installations, one based on
“Andrine”. Andrine is an interactive avatar that
emotionally responds to text messages. Andrine understands over 6,000
words and can interpret full sentences into an emotional facial
expression. For the gala, Andrine’s face was
“reskinned” to include famous faces from around Liverpool.
The second installation DIFR is an interactive table in which the
audience can move object on the table to show historic film clips of
Liverpool. We use RFID technology that turns any object into a simple
